PLAXO STREAMLINES EMAIL CONTACT UPDATING PROCESS
WITH CLICK-TO-CONNECT™

Company also Announces $8.5 Million in Second Round Funding

July 28, 2003 (MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.) — With the release of its new free contact update software Plaxo Contacts version 1.3, Plaxo extends fast, simple and secure contact management from the address book to the inbox. Now, Plaxo users can view at-a-glance whether email they receive is coming from one of their existing contacts or someone they might not know, and they can simply and easily get updates without leaving the email. This helps Plaxo users keep in touch with contacts even more effortlessly during their busy workday.

Plaxo Contacts' new graphical interface is inserted directly into the message header and tells the user whether the sender is in the user's address book and whether the information in the address book is up-to-date. Plaxo Contacts' Click-to-Connect™ feature then enables users to add the sender to their address book with a single click and to request updated contact information from the sender.

"Plaxo's goal is to help people stay better connected with each other seamlessly and effortlessly," said Rikk Carey, vice president of engineering for Plaxo. "Click-to-Connect™ is a significant addition to the tools Plaxo Contacts already provides as it dramatically reduces the administrative burden email users face."

Create Customized Professional Signatures

Plaxo's new Signatures tool enables Plaxo Contacts users to customize their own personal e-mail footer with current contact information. Users can choose one of four professional graphic layouts and select the contact information they want to include, even adding a corporate or personal logo, in a few simple clicks. If the user elects to change their contact information in their Plaxo card, the signature is updated automatically.

Plaxo Contacts 1.3, which integrates tightly with Outlook and Outlook Express, works by prompting users to choose people from their address book from whom they want to get updated contact information. It then sends a simple email message on the user's behalf, allowing the contact to reply either by email or via a secure website. Plaxo processes the replies and integrates updated information into the user's address book. If the contact becomes a Plaxo user, they are connected and the address book is automatically updated whenever contact information changes. Plaxo Contacts 1.3 also provides web-based access to your address book information, synchronizes the user's address book among multiple computers, and backs up the address book in case of data loss.
