Assistant Director, OIPC-INTERPOL

The Secretary General appointed Tim as an Assistant Director within ICPO-INTERPOL in 2004, serving at the General Secretariat in Lyon, France. Tim has responsibility for the development and implementation of organisational protocols and strategic planning/policy, under direction from the Secretary General and his Executive Directors. Tim’s work takes him worldwide and he works closely with many foreign police services/forces through their National Central Bureaus or through the ICPO-INTERPOL Sub-Regional Bureaus. He also created, on behalf of the Secretary General, the INTERPOL Strategic Advisory Panel, a group comprised of internationally recognised leaders within the law enforcement community. The panel assists and advises ICPO-INTERPOL upon crime and policing trends within an international context. Tim has previously worked with Centrex (the United Kingdom’s Central Police Training and Development Authority), within the National Police Leadership Centre, primarily as a Syndicate Director on the Strategic Command Course, and on other flagship programmes within the Leadership Centre. He also formed and led a specialist consultancy, working in the areas of management development, social, cultural, structural and institutional change management. Before his extensive involvement with police and intelligence organisations, Tim’s career was within the armed services, where he served as an army officer, both at regimental duty and on the staff at the Ministry of Defence, London and 48 Ghurkha Infantry Brigade in Hong Kong. He was a graduate of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, and later also graduated from the Army Command and Staff Course, held at the Army Staff College, Camberley. Tim"s home is in France.
