SPEAKER'S INTRODUCTION Our speaker was born the in the city of Youngstown, Ohio, the last of 5 children. All of his professional life has been spent in delivering the Gospel of Jesus Christ in whom we all love and believe, while we await His soon return. As an ordained minister of the his Church Evangelist McCottry has been responsible for raising up churches in Toronto, Ontario, Canada; and in Waycross, GA; and satisfying the mortgage in three Churches first in Hazlehurst, GA and secondly the Tampa, Town & Country S.D.A. Church in Tampa, FL; and finally in Waycross, GA. he is responsible for building a Fellowship Hall in Lakeland, FL; and building for cash a Day Care Center in Clearwater, FL., as well as building for cash a renovation of the Berean SDA Church in Brunswick, GA. He is presently a Pastor/Evangelist for the Southeastern Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. He has been the Radio Evangelist for the Power & Praise Revival Association. A radio ministry that has been heard all over the Southeastern United States. In 27 years of ministry he has pastored 18 churches and been an associate in two other churches. He has participated in revivals in over 30 states and four other countries. He was a student of Columbia Union College in Takoma Park, MD; and a graduate of Oakwood College, in Huntsville, AL; completing studies in the area of Biblical Languages and completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology. In this technological age Elder McCottry has completed courses in Windows and Word Processing and MS-Dos, a graduate of Compu-Campus in Clearwater, FL.; in addition to this he has an accomplished certificate from ICS in Scranton, PA in the field of Computer Repair and presently is a licensed Computer Repair Technician. He is a licensed tax consultant, completing H & R Blocks school of tax and several other Income tax seminars. As well as a family therapist dealing with complex family issues in today’s society, he is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and the Black American Association of Christian Counselors. Our speaker is happily married to the former Michelle Williams of New Orleans, LA. God has blessed them with six children, the oldest being a daughter, JaTara Elise; Nicole; and a son Jonathan Edward II who shares his name, Nidia; Nikia and the youngest is Joseph. Lastly Elder McCottry is a published author of 13 books and two published articles. His most noted book is an Evangelism Syllabus written for Dr. E. E. Cleveland which is a companion to a Bible Study Workbook that will help laymen assist ministry for a finished work, "My People are Destroyed for Lack of Knowledge." This Bible Study Workbook takes complex theology and helps common laymen to understand Bible principles. Ministry is always difficult because we are working against an adversary. But our speaker has found abundant strength in a source that is greater than any other.
