Tom Walsh

Over the past 32 years in the plastics industry Tom has worked in R&D, management, technical services, application development, sales, market development, business development, small business unit and trade association management. He has experience with a wide variety of plastics including polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride, chlorinated polyvinylchloride, crosslinked polyethylene, nylons, polyphenylene sulfides, fluoropolymers, engineering thermoplastics, engineering thermoplastic alloys, barrier resins, as well as filled and reinforced compounds. He has a strong background in polymer applications including extrusion, injection molding, blow molding, film extrusion, pipe extrusion, profile extrusion, fibers, mono-filament, strapping, sheet, thermoforming, geomembranes, compression molding, injection molding and rotational molding. In 2009, he was elected Chairman of the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) committee F-17, Plastic Piping Systems. In 2007 he received the Award of Merit from ASTM and was honored as a Fellow of ASTM. He has a PhD in Chemistry from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a BS in Chemistry from Boston College.
