Co-founder of Themis Vision Systems, LLC ( formally Emerging Technologies); a start up located at the NASA Stennis Space Center facility in Mississippi. The company is focused on designing and selling advanced lightweight real-time hyperspectral systems. .We are currently seeking partners. As Senior Partner at CEI, Janek is responsible for the design, sales and marketing of million dollar transmission and compression systems for Homeland Security including sensor-based satellite transmission systems used to protect pipelines and a hyperspectral camera used as an IED detector. Previously Janek served as VP of Product Development at BroadBand Networks, Corp; he developed technology to produce video material; used by the WAEA, and revised all intellectual property for MPEG-2 stream multiplexing. As VP of Technology for VidNet Systems, he handled tactile marketing and developed a satellite-based transmission system for Homeland Security. At Innovacom, Inc., he developed technical engineering MRDs, directed MPEG design group and designed MavNet the precursor to IPTV. At FutureTel, he designed and delivered compression and transmission products and strategic operating plans. At Zapex Technologies, he directed a multinational marketing and engineering staff, and developed and marketed an advanced scene detection device for producing high-quality DVDs. At Opta, he designed the MonaLisa the original high-resolution VGA-DSP display product for Windows. Other achievements include: authoring a technical business plan; bringing in $9.1M in funding for a startup; founding the first Apple VAR; designing the first high-resolution graphics system for a personal computer and completing the design of the first IM system for the WWW; designing the special effects and managing projects for: King Kong, Galactica, Special Effects Sound Stage, Castle Dracula and two US festivals.
