Renee Giedl

Georgia Department of Labor-Vocational Rehabilitation

I'd like to think that a lot about me hasn't changed but thank goodness it probably has! I'm still the girl that likes to laugh and have a good time but I'm a heck of a lot more responsible. After highschool and an undergraduate degree at Stetson in Music, I started working for the state of Georgia at the Department of Family and Children Services. I met my husband, Bill and had 2 beautiful children, Lindsay now 14 and Chandler 12. After 8 years at DFCS, I was lucky enough to move to Vocational Rehabilitation. I received my Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling in 2002 and passed the National Certification for Rehabilitation Counselors. In 2003, I became a Unit Manager for Voc. Rehab. I did the unthinkable and something that I never thought I'd do, I moved back to my hometown of Waycross in 1995. We are happy here and stay really busy with the kids who are involved in every activity under the sun. I am currently also teaching graduate level classes for Thomas University. My husband, Bill, finishes school in November and he will start teaching in the elementary school setting. We are happy and the best part is that we still laugh alot!
