This is what the tea looks like. It doesn't taste bad, either. It's comforting.
Here are the four herbs:
Sheep's sorrel, powdered,
Burdock root, the root only, cut into small pieces,
The bark of the slippery elm tree, ground,
And Turkey rhubarb, ground.

In your dishwasher, top rack, place your caps and rings. I like to wash my silicone oven mitts too.
On the bottom rack, place 9 jars and your strainers.
I set the dishwasher to the heavy setting with heated water and heat dry. Run.
2 gallons of purified (filtered) water without fluoride. You can use distilled water or spring water, but please don't use fluoridated water!
you need two 3 gallon tamale pots with one cover (stainless steel, not aluminum), stainless spoon, two long handled strainers, a medium mixing bowl, a stainless teaspoon. In the dishwasher we have the eight quart mason jars, the lids and the actual strainers I will use. I also like to wash the silicone oven mitts I use.
This is two gallons of water, just put on to boil. My electric range takes 45-55 minutes to boil the two gallons on the back burner. I still find that it is quicker on the back than the front burner, which is larger. I don't know why. Cover your tamale pot, and wait 35 minutes, then...

The next morning, at exactly 12 hours after you turned off your burner last night... Turn burner on high. To get your tea all steamy again, it will take about 20-30 minutes on the back burner of the electric stove. Now's time to unload your dishwasher and clean the kitchen! Wash your second tamale pot, and leave it upside down on a kitchen towel on the counter, to get the sink water out.
I put 9 jars in the dishwasher and 9 jars in the oven. Why? Because I have had a jar bust on me as I was filling it, and I sure could have used an extra jar!
Here are my two favorite strainers. The big one is a long handled one, and because of the way these two set up, the top one does not touch the inside of the bottom one. This works real well.
Start pouring the hot liquid slowly at first. Put a towel under the empty tamale pot. You might splash hot liquid!
You will have a bunch of sludge at the bottom of the pot. Save it in your medium mixing bowl. Go to the Herbal Healer Academy's website to see what this sludge can do. It's AMAZING!!!
Empty the small strainer into the mixing bowl too! If anybody wants this sludge, call me! I end up throwing it out, and it's such a crime to waste it!
