Alan Kindred is a mediator of intellectual property disputes as well as an attorney who is admitted in California, New York and Australia. He acts as Counsel and Intellectual Property Counsel to international and domestic corporations. He has worked for the oldest intellectual property law firm in the United States, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in Southern California and in-house with one of the world’s most famous fashion designers. He acts as, and has managed, outside counsel and in-house law departments in a wide variety of intellectual property matters. Alan Kindred’s practice is in intellectual property, mediation, international business and trade. He has worked in the technology, entertainment, publishing, food and beverage, toy, manufacturing, cosmetics and fashion industries. A substantial part of his experience is international and includes brand protection and enhancement, anti-piracy, anti-counterfeiting and anti-cybersquatting. His experience includes litigation, licensing, transactions, intellectual property audits, advertising, the devising, structuring and implementation of international intellectual property protection programs from both the offshore and onshore perspectives. He has done numerous transactions and appeared in trial and appellate courts in more than one country. Alan Kindred "takes you global." He has spoken on US and international intellectual property issues both domestically and overseas. He is a past member of the Executive Committee of the Intellectual Property Law Section of the State Bar of California, a member of the Executive Committee of the Litigation Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, a past United States Country Representative of the International Bar Association for the Western United States, a continuing member of the organizing committee of the International Law Association’s biennial International Law Weekend-West, an Advisor Emeritus to the Executive Committee of the State Bar of California International Law Section and a past Chair of the International Law Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. He is a judge of the finals of the national Entertainment Moot Court Competition, a judge of the Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition and a trained mediator from the Straus Institute of Dispute Resolution.
