Mike Powers

I am a Materials & Engineering Scientist in the High Frequency Technolgoy Center at Agilent Technologies, Santa Rosa. I hold a BS and MS in Materials Science from UC Berkeley. I hold 8 US patents and I have published over thirty technical papers on joining of advanced engineering materials and materials characterization. I am a co-editor of the CRC Matereials Processing Handbook. In 1995, I co-developed a non-ozone depleting solvent chemistry to replace Freon called "Synergy CCS,” which received the 1996 National Dept. of Energy Pollution Prevention Award. I am a Fellow of the American Society for Metals International. I am also an adjunct instructor at UC Davis in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science.
