Hi. My name is Melodie Kantner. I live in rural Southeast Ohio with the sweetest man on earth, my husband Mark, and a noisy parrot named Barney. I also have a 28 year old son named Brandon. I have been involved with network marketing for over 14 years. The past 12 of those years I have been with Young Living Essential Oils. Before I got into network marketing Mark and I were award winning but, struggling artists. I guess I should back up a bit. We wanted to have the freedom of working from home so we expanded our part time jewelry design business. Mark had been in restaurant management for over 20 years and was getting really burned out. We worked at jewelry design for a couple years, marketing our flame-worked glass beads, copper enamel and gemstone designs in boutiques and art shows. What started out as fun became more and more difficult. It was about that time we got involved with our first network marketing company. We failed miserably and I became totally turned off by network marketing. Mark ended up back in restaurant management. When my sponsor approached me with a product that I needed, I was in no mood to hear it was a network marketing company, but I tried the product and had a life changing experience. I decided I wanted to build this business but I realized that to be successful in network marketing, I had to get over my fear of being a visible leader of a large group of people AND I had to build the business MY way. Many of the techniques taught by my upline in the previous company just were not my style. I set out to learn skills that ordinary people, even SHY people, then teaching these techniques to others. Getting involved with network marketing was one of the best decisions I have ever made. It has allowed me to build a business that I could work from home and retire my husband. My son Brandon was also able to leave his job at age 23 and is now full time with his network marketing business. The FREEDOM we have when working from home is AWESOME! If you have found a company you love, set goals, stick with it, work hard and be persistent. If I can do it, you can do it! I love helping other people experience the freedom of network marketing.
