Dr. Askwar Hilonga CEO of E&B Nanotech Co. Ltd, African Branch Dr. HILONGA Askwar (34) oversees African branch of an internationally re-known R & D company which is environmentally responsible and bases its operation in advanced nanotechnology. He is also a reputable Lecturer of the St. John's University of Tanzania where he is responsible to provide various services: teaching, research, and consultation. He works with corporate, government, researchers, and educational partners to disseminate modern nanotechnologies desired for large-scale inexpensive commercial/industrial production. He serves as Chief Coordinator for Technology and Global business for E&B Nanotech Co. Ltd. Dr. Hilonga has an overwhelming experience after working as a teacher, assistant lecturer, and researcher in secondary schools and universities within Tanzania and in South Korea. He has a “global-mind” after performing various professional activities in multi-cultural societies; he has connection with professionals from 15 different countries. Hilonga actively contributed to the success of E&B Nanotech Co. Ltd. by facilitating the company to received grants for five big projects supported by Korean Government (Ministry of Commerce). Two of these projects have been successfully completed in April 2009 while the other three will be completed until February 2011. Through his endeavor the E&B Nanotech has received various recognitions/certifications including NET (New Excellent Technology, No. 0255), ISO 9001:2000, and INNO-BIZ (No. 9061-0823). He played a significant role in enabling the E&B Nanotech Co. Ltd. to receive an award (after competing with more than 100 companies and became among the best 12 companies selected) to be supported by Korean government in collaboration with Texas University, USA, to enter the American silica market. He has published 15 scientific articles in internationally recognized journals. Moreover, he has presented incredible scientific works in various conferences within Tanzania and oversees (Namibia, South Africa, South Korea, Belgium, and Brazil). Dr. Hilonga received his Ph.D in Chemical Engineering at Hanyang University and previous degrees (M.Sc-Chemistry and BSc.Ed – Chemistry and Biology) from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He fluently speaks four languages: English, Swahili, Korean, and Kiiraqw. He is a member of Journal of Materials Science Professionals Network, Mesoporous Materials Society, and a devotee of Christian faith.
