We can't control all the random events that occur in everyday life, but we CAN control how we handle them. Attitude determines altitude. I give my priorities close attention. I can laugh at myself and the irony of life, let go/feel totally free, make love with true intimacy combined with sensual abandon, as well as take my responsibilities in stride. Worldly possessions, attainments, and pleasures are savored and enjoyed to the fullest, but do not define who I am. My "importance" or "status" matters little, because I am no better or worse than anyone else...just equal. That inherent equality seems priceless for it unifies everyone to a greater or lesser extent, plus it relieves alot of pressure trying to win favor for hidden agendas. Every person that we meet in life has their own perspective, and if we live according to other people's opinions, then we may be giving our power away to live somebody else's life. We are who we are...no matter what others think! Yet we must honor anyone's right to be themselves and express their views...as long as they don't injure or cripple someone else. Life's overarching purpose for me is quite basic: To learn and grow...while helping others along the way. Let the chips fall where they may.
