After serving as a Presbyterian pastor for 19 years, I stopped out for a season in academia (teaching and learning) since January 2007. I am an evangelical/conservative in the Presbyterian Church (USA) and since 2008 have ushered legal challenges through the judicial system of the church (still pending). Three more months of that, and the issue should be resolved "one way or the other." Stay tuned! Meanwhile, I finished my doctoral dissertation, "Reclaiming the Ministry of Teaching in the Missional Setting," and serve as a Teaching Pastor at Saint Matthew Lutheran Church. In January 2012 I was called as the Director of the Presbyterian Coalition, which dovetails nicely with my blog writing and PCUSA legal work.
