(Walvis Nigeria Ltd) 1994 - 2006 Master Offshore Oil Industry Master on Platform Supply, A.H.T.S., Seismic Survey and Dive Support vessels in the North Sea, Persian Gulf, West Africa & the Far East. Have also worked as Senior D.P operator on cable lay and ROV vessels. I have extensive rig towing experience as Master (both of Semi-subs and jack-ups). Also an experienced Anchor Handling Master. 1990 - 1994 Master Bulk Carriers Master for a British based ship management company - Norbulk Shipping. Mini to Cape Size bulk carriers. 1987 – 1989 Yacht Skipper Two years as yacht skipper on a 42 metre Twin Screw Diesel Yacht based in Majorca. Cruised extensively in the central & western Mediterranean, both on charter and with the owner, a Danish business man. 1981 - 1987 Master (Swire Pacific Ship Management Company) I started working in the offshore oil industry with Swire Pacific Ship Management Company as Master on anchor handling tug supply vessels, dive support vessels & seismic survey vessels. In 1987 I was made redundant by Swire Pacific due to the then slump in the offshore sector. 1977 - 1981 Chief Officer/Master (Hanseatic Shipping Company, Cyprus) I joined Hanseatic in 1977 as Chief Officer. I was employed on various types of cargo vessels: – Ro-Ro, general cargo, bulk carriers, etc. In 1979 I was promoted to ship’s Master by Hanseatic & remained with them till 1981 as Master on various general cargo & Ro-Ro vessels. 1966 – 1977 Deck Officer (Cunard Line) Deck Apprentice, Third & Second Officer on general cargo vessels on North Atlantic and Mediterranean routes. After obtaining my Master’s certificate in 1977 I decided to leave Cunard in order to find faster promotion. I obtained my D.P. Operators certificate in January 2004 and from then till 2006 I was Master on Dive Support, cable laying & ROV dynamic positioned vessels. I have recently worked on jack-up barges as OIM/Barge Master. From December 2006 to June 2007 I was Barge Master on a 8 point mooring accommodation barge offshore Angola. I have been OIM/Barge Master on Accommodation/Crane Barge based in Persian Gulf & Gulf of Suez with Millennium Offshore Services and more recently Barge Master on a Jack Up/4 Pt Mooring barge managed by Smit B.V. installing wind generators offshore U.K. in the Solway Firth. Since July 2008 I have been doing Marine Consultancy work for London Offshore Consultants and have been working through their offices in London, Aberdeen, Stavanger and Houston.. |
