A bit about me: My friends call me Ev. I was born on December 18th, 1948 in Massachusetts. I lived in Wellesley most of my life, attending High School there. In Wellesley High School I was a Champion Gymnast...just loved the rings. I decided to go to Art School from there, and graduated from a prestigious Boston Art School in 1970. I have been working as an Artist for almost 40 years. I moved from Boston, in 1993 and now reside on beautiful Cape Cod with my wife Aeva, and my two Westies (those are West Highland White Terriers for those of you that don't know what Westies are). They are named Babaa and Lilli. "LITTLE DOGS RULE"! But, I digress...let's see where was I...oh yes...I am an Internationally Commissioned Decorative and Fine Arts Artist. My work has been featured in National Magazines, (my wife and I won the Better Homes and Gardens "Design Award" in 1986 for a gorgeous hand painted floor. It was excuted for the Designer Showhouse in Milton, MA. in 1986). In addition to having my work shown in Designer Showhouses all over N.E., it has been featured in the finest Galleries (The Prudential Center Gallery and The Gallery at the Boston Design Center to name a few). And, it is included in many exclusive private Collections (Mr Carmi D., General Manager of Bruschwig and Fils, Boston, MA., Sheik Walid J. of Saudi Arabia, Cyril I., Owner and Manager, Four Seasons Hotel, Boston, MA.). I have been collecting Antiques for many years and have become extremely adept in the restoration and refinising of same. But, my one true love is Potraiture. I work in any media...acrylics, pen and ink, pastel pencils, oils...but, my specialty is Museum Quality Watercolor Portraits. (check some of them out on my page here if you like). They are done from photos or sittings. Portraiture includes everything from Pets, to Houses, Weddings, Boats or, they can even be done in Memorium of a loved one. Children's Portraits are a specialty and a joy. Some of my other creations include Hand-Cut Out and Muraled Designer Screens, Hand Painted Floor Clothes, Custom Designer Furniture (any Style or Motif). Why not let me work with your A.S.I.D. Museum Quality Antique Restoration and Refinishing of anything wood, is a speciality and a passion of mine. A bit about Finishworks: Throughout my 35 years as an Artist and Craftsperson in New England, everyone told me to; "specialize"..."Do not diversify". But, (and it's a big but, no pun intended), this seemed to fly in the face of everything I was hearing from my clients. Clients told me repeatedly, that they preferred to deal with individual sub-contractors, as it was much less expensive. (And they are correct, it is). But...(and this but is even bigger...pun intended), that finding the good ones, and getting multiple estimates, was truly frustrating and time consuming. Not to mention, the issues, of coordinating schedules, and having to trust complete strangers in and about their homes. And I listened. I have always tried to keep my clients as happy and stress-free as possible. So, I sat down, and tried to figure out how to address these challenges. That was how FINISHWORKS was created. I want FINISHWORKS.com to be "ONE STOP SHOPPING" for home owners, developers, architects, and designers.
