Jeff DeanDirector of Career Services, Harrison College I was born in Elkhart Indiana in 1965. My parents relocated and moved our family of five to Barnard Missouri (population 206) in 1976. I finished elementary and graduated from South Nodaway High School in 1983. Attempted college at Tarkio College in Tarkio MO, but was not ready. Decided to take on the real world and work for a living. After learning what factory work was all about, I discovered I needed a career. During this period, I decided to go back to school and moved to Indiana. I attended, worked, and graduated from Davenport University in 1999 with a Bachelors of Applied Science degree in Sales/Marketing. In 2008, I also attended, worked, and earned an MBA in management from Indiana Institute of Technology. In 2006, while working for Indiana Institute of Technology, I received the Chamber Ambassador Award of the year for both Elkhart Chamber of Commerce and the Goshen Chamber of Commerce. The same year, I also received the “Extra Mile Award” from Indiana Institute of Technology. Also in 2007, I chaired the Ambassador Council for both Elkhart and Goshen Chambers and co-chaired for the Education Council sub committee. I offer a vast background working in higher education and I am well connected in the community. Being involved in the community is an area of great interest for me. I am a Rotarian, member of the Michiana Human Resource Association, Society for Human Resource Management, and a board member for Individual Families in Transition (IFIT), and now Director of Career Services for Harrison College. |
