Professional Summary
Based in Scotland and currently specialising in server Virtualisation, Virtual Infrastructure and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, I understand the needs and aspirations that can be met by the the implementation of products and technologies from VMware and other organisations in the virtualization arena.
Virtualization is changing the computing landscape and I am well placed to provide planning, testing, proof of concept, implementation and other services to enable organistions attain maximum competitive benefit.
The area I currently major on is achieving the value that can be derived from the implementation of IT virtualisation technologies and techniques. Businesses that take a long term view of virtualisation can typically save about 25% of their entire IT spend. I know that this sound far too good to be true but I can back this up if needed. Virtualisation is often seen as 'consolidation', and while consolidation has many benefits - smaller physical footprint, reduced carbon footprint, reduced support costs - there are many other cost savings and benefits that can be achieved, such as in Disaster Recovery or Business Continuity, in desktop centralisation and performance (VDI), and many others.
I live in Falkirk, Scotland, UK with my Wife Janice and step-daughter Stacey. I spend too much time away from home currently due to work, so I'm interested in developing any business ties in Scotland so that I can spend more time with Janice and Stacey.
My business is called AVArcher, a partnership between Janice and I, and we supply knowledge based IT services. These services are Consultancy and Education. I do lots of training, trainer development and course development for HP and VMware, and others, in the UK and worldwide. I also provide consultancy services to a small band of Scottish businesses, and have achieved successful outcomes that have enabled me to develop long and lasting relationship, both business and personal.
