Executive Director, Marblehead Arts Association
8 Hooper Street, Marblehead, MA 01945
The Marblehead Arts Association is located in the historic King Hooper Mansion at 8 Hooper Street, Marblehead, Mass. Four galleries of exhibits by association members and guest artists change monthly, and education programs and special events are offered throughout the year.
Founded in 1922 to promote the appreciation of art in Marblehead (and now the region) the MAA continues to grow and prosper with over 500 artist, associate and corporate members. In 1938 the MAA purchased the very dilapidated King Hooper Mansion, restored it and in 1976 the Mansion was admitted to the National Register of Historic Places.
The Marblehead Arts Gallery Shop features original art, crafts, greeting cards, and books by artist members, as well as art-related gift items. The King Hooper Mansion is available for private functions.
