William YatesGeneral Manager, Spuntex After 23 years with a great company called Freudenberg, I decided to venture out and try Nonwovens on my own. All the travel and startup's were a great beginning (Of course allot of work) but also the Process engineering, ISO – QS – TS standards and Six Sigma training were second to none! I started with Carolina Nonwovens and really enjoyed learning the technology of Airlay! High loft production with cut fiber through a process of opening and airlay was quite fascinating! In addition the ability to learn Natural fiber as well as synthetics was quite interesting! I moved to mechanical drawing and staple fiber production of synthetics! Quite interesting as well! Learning the technology and really understanding the orientation at the molecular level, from the Koreans, was perfect for my education at NC State. I was offered a GM position in Egypt where, once again, I am in a startup situation! But "BACK IN NONWOVENS" where I belong! My education and experience is really paying off and we are moving in the correct direction! |
