Jay DaviesVictor Machinery At age 19 I began working for Piedmont Airlines as a Ramp Agent. I continued working through the merger with US Air. At various times I worked in every area of operations including baggage loading/transfer, air cargo, catering, tower coordinator and load control. In 1994 I transfered to the Customer Service department and worked at the gates, ticket counter and baggage service. I was promoted to Customer Service Supervisor in 1999 and continued in that role until 2003. During that time I also was trained and functioned as a Ground Security Coordinator. In 2003 I secured a position in Corporate headquarters with Cargo Customer Relations where I handled all aspects of lost/damaged cargo and service failures. My final position with US Airways was in Corprate Security and Regulatory Compliance from 2004-2006. I investigated alleged instances of non-compliance from TSA and responded to Letters of Investigation on behalf of the company. I also was heavily involved with all areas of DHS/TSA regulatory issues including the AOSSP, Security Directives and No Fly/Selectee Watchlists. In 2006, I choose not to relocate to Tempe AZ, with the newly merged America West/US Airways and separated from the company after 18 years of service. That is when I accepted an offer from a friend to join his small business, Victor Machinery and begin to learn the complex skills of a machinist. |
