Eric LaDouceStudent, Buffalo State College I have been working since a young age. Starting off working as a 'Bag Boy" cleaning clubs and parking carts at a local Golf and Country Club, I have held many jobs and have a broad life experience. Working with the public in restaurants and the local YMCA, working construction doing framing and siding and working as a city employee in my home town making street signs. I have worked in the P&C warehouse running forklifts, stacking products and placing them on trucks to be shipped to P&C supermarkets. I have held a number of jobs working for landscaping companies planting trees, flowers and shrubs, mulching and providing lawn maintenance. College brought me into the Architecture field where I first gained a position as Senior Drafter for Sollectio Landscaping Company. I was in charge of taking designs from a licensed landscape professional and drafting, by hand, an aesthetically pleasing presentation used to sell plants and landscaping services to customers. From there I gained a position as Project Designer for a small design/ build firm called AnCor. There, I was responsible for conducting site surveys, working with project managers and company managers and working with engineers and architects. I worked with theses individuals to complete construction documents for many commercial projects across the country including remodels and new builds of retail stores in shopping malls. A great deal of my work was on computers, using e-mail, AutoCAD drafting programs and using strong analytical skills. I was left to complete these tasks on my own and on schedule. I have also been involved with teaching and coaching as well, and this brought me to further my education. I am currently enrolled at Buffalo State College, majoring in Technology Education. Technology Education encompasses a broad range of topics including construction, transportation, energy, the environment and so much more. College proves to provide me with much knowledge toward my next step in my professional life. |
