Margi Washburn Getting this message when trying to do a system restore (from several different restore points): "The writer experienced a transient error 0x800423F3" plus other stuff, so I Googled and found some solutions. Thing is, I'm so cynical about Web sites that look authentic and offer solutions that I'm afraid to try them.       Nov 4, 2009 via Facebook

Margi Washburn Sigh. The desktop 'puter crashed. I've got my stuff backed up off-site (2 days ago) but still.... This stinks. Vista Home Premium (I think); keyboard started doing weird things (like typing all ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss smack in the middle of when I was writing on my NaNo book. Margi Washburn I didn't do an outline for my novel this month, but I knew what the story would be. Then, in the wee hours of Nov. 1, I began to type and an entirely different beginning came out and went in a direction I never saw coming. Margi Washburn Chris Baty, creator of National Novel Writing Month wrote this in his first pep talk: "Think of November as an all-expenses-paid, 30-day vacation to novel-land." Margi Washburn Hope this continues: Up at 4, met NaNo goal (and went over!) by 7:20 a.m. Whew! Dog is out for a walk, breakfast at a favorite restaurant this morning, then off to write up a feature.
