Arron KallenbergArron grew up in house that he helped his father and grandfather build on the beach in Homer, Alaska. Summers were spent as a deckhand on his family’s commercial fishing boat; and winters were divided between school, cross-country skiing and teaching himself how to write code. In 2000 Arron moved to the “Lower 48” to study math, computer science and cultural anthropology at Western Washington University. A few bad fishing seasons forced him to “dropout” of school and start his own business (a web-based application development firm). In 2006 Arron co-founded Villij.com. In 2007 Villij was accepted into TechStars (a mentorship-driven seed stage investment fund). In 2008 Arron co-founded DandyID.org with Sara Czyzewicz and Anthony Dimitre. Arron’s firsthand experience being raised in a rural fishing community, combined with his intense interest in computer science and cultural studies provided much of the inspiration he now applies toward his various web-based entrepreneurial endeavors |
