A lifelong New Yorker, Barbara’s trademark for high standards has enabled her to achieve advanced academic degrees and honors. Most notably, she has been granted membership into the highly select Phi Beta Kappa Society, along with other honoraries. A Certification in Financial Planning and an Economics Award from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York has given Barbara the skill-set needed to provide optimum advice and service to her clients. Barbara has advised many winning high school teams in the highly competitive macroeconomic competition, The Fed Challange. She has given Special Development workshops for educators at the NY Fed, for educators wishing to compete in this challenge. Barbara Haravay has had many years of experience as an educator and administrator in the New York City school system. During this time she has been the recipient of multiple awards from her peers, underscoring an ability to communicate and generate success with people for whom she works. This includes the John Bunzel Memorial Award from both the United Federration of Teachers and the Social Studies Supervisors Association of NY. She served as treasurer for several years for the Social Studies Supervisors o9f NYC. A long relationship with the fine jewelry industry has also allowed her to hone merchandising and sales skills, which assure her clients receive results with panache. Barbara is involved in many charitable endeavors, including a lifetime membership in the Hadassah woman’s volunteer organization. This involvement is a continuation of Barbara’s commitment as a teacher and Assistant Principal in a large New York City High School.
