I am a founding member and active Steering Committee member of the Canadian Biochar Initiative and is the founder and President of the non profit industry association, Biochar Ontario. I am also on the Advisory Committee of the International Biochar Initiative (IBI). I have expertise and experience working within engineering, project management, sales and marketing teams while undertaking various aspects of field commissioning, sales support, pre-planning and site preparation, pre-shipment and post-shipment testing, data collection and calibration of customized automated and semi-automated industrial equipment, interpretation and review of project plans and detailed documentation. I have worked for various multinational corporations in Canada and around the world, including in North America, Asia, Latin America and Europe and have provided project and system support for domestic and international firms seeking to undertake engineering and research & development (R&D) projects. I have a strong background and strength in evaluating technologies from an engineering standpoint as well as understanding projects from the perspective of both a scientific, lifecycle, policy and ergonometric perspective and is able to rapidly and easily understand and interpret scientific and/or policy papers, articles and documents from a project management, engineering and public policy perspective. I was trained as an engineering technologist at Yorkville University RCC Faculty of Engineering Technology and Computing (formerly the RCC Institute of Technology) in Toronto, have an extensive environmental background in the non-governmental and volunteer sector and have formal training from the University of Guelph in Soil Science.
