Mary Hager

With a background in government relations, higher education, social services and the food and drug industries, Hager most recently worked in Washington, DC, advocating for nutrition, food and health issues at the federal level. In March, 2011, she moved to Tokyo, Japan, to take up full-time alien residency for three years. Although a native of Southern California, she explored the greater US and earned her bachelor’s degree (With Distinction) at the Univ. of Delaware and completed a dietetic internship at the University of Michigan Hospital before embarking on graduate studies at the University of California, Davis. There she earned a MS and PhD in Nutrition with concentrations in endocrinology and physiological chemistry. She enjoys international travel, endurance athletics, music, cats, and is thankful for her husband and two daughters.
