I am passionately committed to creating more avenues for social justice and change. My focus now is on writing new market grants for two large companies in the Detroit area who will recycle all of Michigan's scrap tires while creating new green uses and economic opportunity out of this expensive and hazardous waste. I am also writing a grant for Motor City Blight Busters and various other amazing organizations in the area, which will help them create a model program for urban agriculture. I'm producing a documentary film about the miraculous possibilities urban agriculture may hold in solving a number of Detroit's deepest social and economic problems. I love philosophy, literature and politics and spent three years developing a film about the problem of evil (central to all three disciplines) based on the wonderful book Evil in Modern Thought, by Susan Neiman. Due to difficulties in securing financing, this film has been shelved for now, but will soon find its way into form.
