Bernie TuchI am an endocrinologist with a passion for introducing stem cells as a therapy for insulin-dependent diabetes into the clinic. I see patients privately 1 day a week in Maroubra (9344 0936), and spend 4 days per week at CSIRO directing the Australian Diabetes Therapy Project. This aims to commence clinical trials with stem cells, placed inside microcapsules, by 2014. I am also the Director of the NSW Stem Cell Network, which is sponsored by the NSW Government Office for Science & Medical Research. |
