Salvador AyalaMarketing & Technology Manager IPC Technology Center, Schlumberger WPS - Surface Efficiency Product Champion (Nov 1, 2003 to July 2006) Within the domain of my role as Product Champion I've had the opportunity to play a leading role in the development and implementation of New Technologies for WPS. Defining the introduction strategy as well as quantifying the value of these new technologies was also part of my responsibilities as Product Champion. Collaborating with different Geomarkets to define the portfolio of relevant technologies to be introduced in these individual areas as part of an ongoing efficiency initiative to reduce costs and increase profitability of the business.The financial impact (Value) of all the New Technologies developed and introduced under the Surface Efficiency Program is estimated to exceed $150MM and has strenghtened our competitive profile in the fracturing market worldwide. Some of the technologies under the Surface Efficiency Portfolio include the following: • Efficient Fracturing - Fluids - YF100RGD Fluid System, commercialized Feb 2006 • PodSTREAK 6x6 and GelSTREAK 6x6 for RSG - Commercialized October 2006 • SuperPOD - Commercialized October 2004 • Liquid Transport & Metering (LTM) - Commercialized October 2004 • Fracturing Pump Control Phase 1 - Commercialized August 2005 • PODSTREAK 6x4 - Commercialized August 2005 • Dry PCM (PCM Upgrade) - Commercialized December 2005 • Wireless Communication on Fracturing Equipment - Commercialized August 2005 • FracFIND 2.0 - Auto upload & QA/QC Archive - Commercialized March 2005 • FracCAT 4.3 - Commercialized August 2005 Leading the Efficient Fracturing Initiative for RSG My role as the project leader was to develop an integral solution for the unique and challenging working conditions of the fracturing market in Western Siberia. As a result of this initiative, the following technologies were developed: YF100RGD, PodSTREAK 6x6 and GelSTREAK 6x6. As a result of the successful implementation of these robust and fit for purpose technologies the following improvements have been documented: • Increased job count (asset utilization) by +150% • Reduced product cost by 10% by replacing YF100HTD with YF100RGD • Lowered Maintenance Costs by 30% Schlumberger Well Services, Kome Chad(Nov 2001 to October 2003) - WSV Operations Manager Responsible for the outlook of the WS business in Chad. Focus on Service Quality and HSE issues were of paramount importance in order to maintan and consolidate our position as the only Service Company in Chad. Two main clients: Exxon-Mobil and EnCana. Present during the set up and development stage of the project with Exxon-Mobil and Exploration stage with EnCana. Managing an operation of +$20MM/year with a head count of over 60 employees with over 50M in assets. Cementing & Stimulation Services constituted the core of our business in Chad at that time. - WS-District Technical Engineer Looking after both technical and operational for Well Services. Participating on the start-up process of the Project for Exxon-Mobil. Supporting & Replacing the Operations Manager during his absence. Schlumberger Well Production Services, Kellyville Training Center (May 16, 2000 to October 31st, 2001) - Training Instructor - WPS (May 2000 to October 2001) Working as a group coordinator for both technical and practical training for SLB employees and clients. Participating on the development and update of new training material as well as the implementation of course module planners and web based training modules. Schlumberger Dowell, Reynosa, MEX (June 5, 1995 - May 2000 ) - Field Engineer (Well Production Services - Fracturing)for North of Mexico In charge of execution and evaluation of fracturing jobs, leading a group of 16 to 20 people. From 1996 to 1998 the activity increased from 40 frac jobs/year(1996) to 150 frac jobs/year (1998). During this time I was closely involved in the introduction of both new frac equipment and new technology. I also participated in the whole training process for new equipment operators. - Accident Prevention Team Leader District Safety Coordinator, responsible for training, information distribution and follow up of any QHSE related issue, reporting on a monthly basis. Effective implementation of QHSE awards and the approval to purchase Winter Coats for all employees were some of the accomplishments at this time. - Cell Leader Well Production Services - Fracturing Responsible of coordination and logistics of two frac crews, including 40 people and 50 pieces of frac equipment. Spare parts and chemical products requesting process as well as continuous contact with vendors and suppliers were some of the experiences acquired during this time. - DESC Engineer for PEMEX The introduction of the DESC Engineer for PEMEX was an outstanding marketing strategy and I am glad for been able to participate along all this process. This achievement allowed us to strategically locate all Schlumberger resources right next to our clients's desk. The results: Increased Market Share, and improved CLIENT-SLB relationship and communication. My role as DESC Engineer was mainly focused on the Design and Sale Process of Frac Jobs and Technical Support for PEMEX and IPM. Telecable Colima (Cable T.V. Company, Summer 1993 & 1994) - Design Engineer Responsible for design, setup and wiring process of coaxial cable for local T.V. System in Mexico. Leading a group of 20 people, helpers and technicians. I am an objective-driven person obsessed with efficiency in general. Honesty, discipline and perseverance are the values I believe in. They represent a guideline in both my personal life and my job responsibilities within the company. I strongly believe that effective communication lead individuals and organizations to improve the social environment, the quality of work and the achievement of objectives. My family well being is what motivates me the most. |
