Sarj RojoDirector, SARJ Schole REV. DR. SERGIO A. ROJO, JR. (most people call me, Sarj). I am an ordained Baptist minister cum educator and am actively involved in ministry expressions as founder and director of Sarj Schole (http://sarjschole.wordpress.com) ; executive minister of a Chapel (http://saltscomchapel.wordpress.com); president of a Christian college; and amateur blogger and an author. Prior to these involvements, I had been Bible school administrator, guidance counselor of a State College, pastor to churches, professor in graduate school and a seminary, and a leader in ecumenical group. Feeling inadequate in ministry skills, I decided to be equipped in a seminary and finished in 1981 a Theology degree from Central Philippine University. Immediately after graduation, I served as circuit minister to 12 small Baptist churches in Escalante, Negros Occidental. Balintawak Evangelical Church ordained me to the Christian Ministry on July 31, 1983 . I never experienced material affluence since I started working in the work of the Lord Jesus Christ. The situation however, did not deter my passion for education. I earned a doctorate degree from Bakke Graduate University in Seattle, Washington; a Master of Theology from Asia Graduate School of Theology in Baguio City; a Master of Arts in Educational Management degree from West Negros University, and a Master of Ministry degree from Asian Theological Seminary in Manila. I also passed the Career Civil Service Examinations and Teacher’s Board Examinations. As well, I was able to travel to many parts of the Philippines and abroad like Singapore, Taiwan, France, Switzerland, Hong Kong, China, and Thailand. I now serve concurrently as Executive Minister of Salts Community Chapel and Director of SARJ Schole (both in Escalante City; and President of Bacolod Christian College in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental. In 2007, I edited a book, Wilson D. Guanzon: A Relational Life. Mr. Guanzon had served twice the presidency of the Convention of Philippine Baptist Churches (CPBC). I also published in 2009 a biography of Rev. Arsenio G. Llamas, Jr., CPBC president [2008-2010]. My wife, Timmy and I have five children in Jun-Jun;Tim-Tim; Jates; Tadz; and PTh. === I see myself being passionate in cultivating optimal education as a result of holistic transformation in Jesus Christ. |
