Patrick ArensdorfCEO, Critical Diagnostics Entrepreneurial general manager with a focus on strategy, change management and rapid growth companies. Deep experience in a wide range of healthcare product markets. Extensive financing and corporate development background. In my current role as EVP at Tethys Bioscience, I manage a broad range of functional areas including strategy, corporate development, finance, legal, intellectual property, human resources, and other administration. Tethys was one of three medical startups I helped found after completing my program as a Sloan Fellow at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. In each case, I served as part of the founding management team, helping to formulate the initial business models, market focus and execution plans and to raise the initial angel and first institutional financing. Today, all three companies, Tethys, Sinexus, and Simpirica Spine, have successfully recruited excellent management teams to execute those plans, and are backed by top tier venture capital firms. In my previous role as the CEO of First Medical, a medical device/diagnostics turnaround, I restarted a company, built a team from 8 to over 120 employees, fielded a national sales force, and launched the company's initial product. I sold this company and remained as division president of the Fortune 500 acquiror for two years post-acquisition. I've also remained involved with several medical angel groups, including Tenex Medical and Life Science Angels, as well as a mentor to the Stanford Biodesign Program. My earlier career experience has included work in private equity and international mergers and acquisitions, in medical fields spanning surgical gloves and supplies (Ansell Edmont) through pacemakers and defibrillators (Telectronics Pacing Systems), as well as across IT (Telesphere) and several other industries (GNB Batteries, Colt's Firearms, Omniglow). |
