Kathy Deschner

Director of Development, Community Services Northwest

I worked at YWCA Clark County for almost 19 years as Director of Development. In 2009, I went to work for Forward Edge International, a faith-based missions and relief organization that addresses the urgent needs of afflicted people worldwide. By mobilizing hundreds of volunteers each year, Forward Edge International alleviates suffering through disaster-response work, health-care projects and programs for at-risk children. Since 1983, more than 10,000 ordinary people have found extraordinary purpose through serving with Forward Edge in many parts of the U.S. and 34 nations. I went on a mission trip to New Orleans in 2007, and in 2009 I went up to help the flood victims in Lewis County a couple times lst year. I look forward to doing a lot more mission work in the near future, perhaps a trip to Haiti. In February 2010, I went to work for Community Services Northwest as Director of Development. I also spend a lot of time as Chair of Prevent, the Clark County coalition to reduce underage drinking and substance abuse among youth.
