George RansomE Dir Health Infrastructure Over the years I have maintained a strong focus in the Aboriginal Health, Information Management, Information Technology and Training environments, holding such roles as National Deployment Manager for Health Canada’s First Nations and Inuit Health Information System (FNI-HIS), Senior Manager, Health Solutions, Client Registry Systems, for LiQuata Incorporated, Project Manager/Trainer, Executive Management Knowledge and Skills Training Program (EM KSTP) for the Native Alliance of Quebec (NAQ/AAQ), Project Manager Indian & Residential Schools Survivor, Compensatory Tracking Tool for the Assembly of First Nations (AFN) and most recently, I concluded a short term employment opportunity with the government of Nunavut’s Health and Social Services Department, where I held the role of Regional Telehealth Coordinator. Presently I hold the role of Executive Director of Health for Norway House Cree Nation, Health Services Incorporated, were I direct and lead the vision for the build, configuration and integration of 24 clinical programs, pharmacy, dental clinic, long term care home and a hospital, built under one roof over this next ten years. These environments required specific and specialized skills and experiences to facilitate the successful outcome to the project charter, deliverables and other. For example, Health Canada’s First Nations and Inuit Health Information System (FNI-HIS–v2) would be implemented and deployed to 622 First Nations and Inuit communities; located across various different regions and remote environments of the country. The complexity of the deployment was increased due to the diversity and individual needs of the communities involved and the culturally appropriate engagement management process requirements definition that was defined post-deployment that contributed to a well thought out communication plan and feedback mechanism necessary for achieving success. To achieve success it was necessary to focus on specific skills sets, Facilitation, Team building, Relationship building, Trainer interventions, Process Tools and Skills and Techniques. To overcome political, functional and other diversities it became evident that the development of plenary and break-out group methodologies was required for facilitating the collaborate approach necessary to gain consensus on form, fit and function The overall training methodology considers the aspects of the integration of people with tools and technology, that produces user friendly, easy to understand training manuals, teaching aids, and deployments that allowed for a smooth and transparent transition to the successful implementation of the initiative at hand. |
