An honours graduate in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London, Harry spent approaching 30 years in the steel, mining, engineering and chemical industry. He worked in both technical and managerial roles and soon developed an interest and passion for safety. Recognised for his leadership and SH&E achievements, Harry has led a number of operations to record safety achievements. In 2002 he decided to take his passion for safety further and joined the Queensland Government as they were about to introduce regulation of Major Hazard Facilities to the National Standard, based on Seveso and the UK HSE model. As Director of the unit, he is enjoying the challenge and obtaining great satisfaction from seeing industry safety standards rising.
