Dianne Martinez 1 connection

Born to Marie Ezelle in 1938 at the Salvation Army Home in San Antonio, Texas. Adopted from there when 5 weeks old by Richard and Ola Barrett. Lived in El Campo and Highlands before Baytown.
Healthy until had polio at 8 years old and was paralyzed. Fully recovered. Went to school in Baytown from the 4th grade on. Straight A student all through school. Was a twirler in the band for two years and also played clarinet (ugh!) married at 16 and had 5 children: Debbie, Catherine, Richard, Carrie and Rebecca. Stay at home mom until Rebecca started school, but was a community volunteer in Scouts (boy and girl), Beautify Baytown Association, Home and School Association and Church music program and worked part time during the day at the City Parks and Recreation Department teaching Women's exercise classes, children's baton twirling and class piano. Divorced in 1975 and never remarried. Have 4 grandchildren: Ashley Neil, age 30, Sterling, age 28. Ashley Diane (step). age 28, and Joshua, age 5. Have worked in the printing business since 1976 and am still at it. My son, Richard, located my real mother, Marie, in 1980 and from there I have known my blood relatives. Have no knowledge of my birth father. I live in the upstairs area of my daughter, Debbie's house, and take care of the house and cooking as she and husband have two homes. When i retire, I plan to buy a small place somewhere in the Texas hills. My son, Richard, died with AIDS in 1987 and since then I have been an AIDs caregiver and AIDS Hospice worker.
