DJ KACE

Vienna born DJ KACE aka Sebastian Podsiadlo has been a musician of many forms since and early age. Raised in Winnipeg, he began his musical career after high school forming the local instrumental trio REDSAYNO, who garnered much acclaim within the Canadian music scene. KACE also offered his very unique style of drumming to The Absent Sound, another Winnipeg group on the rise. KACE found himself touring in many parts of Canada gathering an adoring audience along the way. His interests in beat theory always seemed to have come from the electronic world where the sounds of drum machines and sequencers paid attribute to his metronomic drumming style. The switch to djing and producing came in 2006 where he co-founded Nu Home Productions, who put on late night events in the electronic scene. KACE departed to Montreal for 9 months and finally found time to record a compilation of mixes called Absent Yet Present, and performed live once again. His amazing community building skills found him lasting friendships while out East and continue since his return. The music of DJ KACE is described as minimal, 4 to floor, lush techno with soundscapes adding texture and atmosphere. He will be recording a full length album this year in conjunction with the 2-Ply Collective here in Winnipeg.
