Ted Petersonindustrial design student, Southern Illinois University Ted Peterson is an industrial design student and outdoor enthusiast from Rockford, Illinois who is passionate about designing products and systems that are sensitive to the environment. A lifelong rock climber and basement tinkerer, Ted has developed an appreciation for ecological balance and spatial construction. Since transferring to Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2006 to study architecture, he has switched gears to design the smaller things we use every day. In 2009, he was winner of the Interzinc Challenge Competition with a concept that converts the kinetic energy of people opening doors into electricity. His interests are in pursuing biomimetics and the incorporation of renewable energy sources into product lifecycles through a holistic approach to design. |
