steve warren

I knew what I wanted to do from age 11: Radio. First disc jockey job at age 16; first program director position at age 18. Announcer, program director, music director and ops/manager positions at 12 stations between '64 and '83 in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Florida, Connecticut, Tennessee, Virginia, Wisconsin. Started consulting in '81, went full time self-employment in '83 and over the next two decades provided advice and consulting services for many stations from coast to coast. Wrote the widely read report "Repositioning Country Radio" that had significant influence on evolution and direction of Country radio nationally in the 90's. Created the first music scheduling software for the Apple Mac in the mid-80s, which evolved into Music 1, the first Windows-native music scheduler in the 90's. As that business continued to grow and expand, at the dawn of new century, I left full time programming consulting to concentrate on the software. Today, I continue to write my music and playlist advisory for Country music stations. A subscription serive that is is published on the 1st and 15th of each month. But my primary focus is my M1 scheduling software which I am most pleased to see is being used by a large and continually growing number of broadcast and webcast stations around the world.
