Bob Abene

Dr. Bob Abene possesses a wealth of experience in higher education and now spearheads all activities at the Colleges of Occupational Excellence. Leveraging his singular ability to raise funds, augment operations, and provide outstanding organizational leadership, Dr. Bob Abene has already obtained both private and federal funding and overseen significant marketing and training efforts for the Colleges of Occupational Excellence. Moreover, Dr. Bob Abene continues to work as a consultant to other post-secondary educational ventures. Prior to joining the Colleges of Occupational Excellence, Dr. Bob Abene demonstrated his ability to implement both small- and large-scale positive change at various other academic institutions. Dr. Bob Abene has spent the last decade initiating health care and service programs, driving financial turnaround, and sitting on Workforce Development Boards in addition to founding his own post-secondary academy. Ancilla College, Marian College, the Wisconsin School of Professional Psychology, and others, have all prospered under Dr. Bob Abene’s strong leadership. Earlier in his career, Dr. Bob Abene secured special funding to combat alcohol-related challenges among college-age students. As a Student Affairs administrator in the 1980s and 1990s, Dr. Bob Abene performed innovative research on the increasing number of adult students entering college. When he first entered the field of education, Dr. Bob Abene initiated the Special Needs Assistance Program for disabled college students at Chicago’s Triton Community College. Dr. Bob Abene was educated at Loyola University in Chicago, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology and his Doctor of Education in Counseling and Higher Education Administration. Dr. Bob Abene was awarded his Master of Science in Psychology by the University of St. Francis. A Fellow of St. Joseph’s College, Dr. Bob Abene belongs to the American Association of College Personnel.
