Roxana RecioAssociate Professor of Modern Languages , Creighton University Spanish Professor and scholar Roxana Recio functions as the author of 9 scholarly works and 60 published articles about Medieval and Renaissance literature. Roxana Recio’s academic journey began at the Universitat de Barcelona, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Literature in 1978. From 1978 to 1979, she taught at the Colegio Virgen de la Paz, prior to pursuing graduate studies at Florida International University, where she earned her M.S. in Modern Language Education in 1981. From 1982 to 1983, Roxana Recio served as a Teaching Fellow at Washington University. Roxana Recio subsequently gained entrance to the Rackham Graduate School at the University of Michigan, where she completed an M.A. in Spanish in 1985 and a Ph.D. in Spanish in 1990. She also functioned as a Teaching Fellow at the University of Michigan from 1983 to 1988. Roxana Recio’s graduate dissertation about the theme of Petrarch’s “Triunfo de Amor” (Triumph of Love) served as the basis of a later article, “Petrarca y Alvar Gómez: la traducción del Triunfo de Amor” in the journal Studies in the Humanities, edited by Peter Lang, published in 1996. Following the completion of her doctorate studies, Roxana Recio earned Assistant Professorship roles at Southwestern College and Wichita State University. In 1994, Roxana Recio joined Creighton University’s Department of Modern Languages and Literatures as an Assistant Professor and earned a promotion to Associate Professor in 1998. Roxana Recio possesses numerous awards, including the Borsa d’ Estudis “Generalitat de Catalunya” and the Dean’s Research Award in Arts and Sciences from Creighton University. |
