Bill has over 40 years of professional experience, including 30 years in the field of environmental engineering and management. Before setting up his own consulting firm, he spent 21 years at CH2M HILL, holding various senior management positions including a term on the board of directors. Bill is a recognized leader in the field of sustainable development, serving on several national and international committees, and helping organizations apply sustainability principles to their operations. His book, Becoming Part of the Solution: The Engineer’s Guide to Sustainable Development, is an American Council of Engineering Companies “best seller.” Bill chairs the International Federation of Consulting Engineers Sustainable Development Committee. Bill is also Past President and Member of the Governing Board Engineers Without Borders–USA, a non-profit, 12,000-member organization which sends teams of engineering students and professionals to improve the quality of life in developing communities world wide. Bill serves on the 2008 Democratic National Convention Greening Committee, organized to help reduce the environmental impact of the convention and to promote sustainable practices. Bill was a Liaison Delegate to the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, an organization of over 190 multi-national companies having a shared commitment to sustainability.
