David Adcock

RETIRED

Broadly educated, I now teach philosophy at Houston Baptist University. I have worked in the business world (hospital business management), in churches (both as a youth minister and as a pastor), and in higher education. While educated in the social sciences, history, philosophy and theology, I prefer to teach philosophy. I currently teach philosophy at Houston Baptist University, where I received the 2007 Opal Goolsby Award for Teaching Excellence, one of the university's most prestigious teaching awards because both faculty and students are involved in selecting the recipient of this award. A native of Cajun South Louisiana, I enjoy people. I live life as a gift meant to be poured out in the service of others. I am happiest when I am making others happy. I am not interested in money or material wealth. I enjoy teaching, but also enjoy taking in the beauty of the world. I especially enjoy getting to know people. I look for the good in each person, and always try to encourage those around me. I love my family, without whom I would be lost.
