In a career spanning over 16 years, have worked in India, middle- east (UAE, Oman & Jordan), Morocco and lately Kenya, having a varied exposure spread over different countries & product categories, with exposure to major retail brands in the US & UK. Also was an entrepreneur for seven years having conceptualized & successfully run companies in the UAE & Morocco Educated at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (nift) (www.niftindia.com) (1989-1991 batch). Also completed an executive education programme in “Supply Chain Management” at Indian Institute of Technology-Delhi (IIT-D) in Sep-07. Have worked in both, manufacturing & sourcing / buying sides, directing a cross functional team involved with sourcing, merchandising, order negotiations & confirmations. Was also responsible for hiring & training of personnel & work flow Was a "change agent" for the company in terms of pushing newer ideas & initiatives. Product categories and fabrics worked with include: active wear tops & bottoms to outerwear / technical sportswear & knitted apparel also .worked with fabrics such as yarn dyed checks, to nylon, polyester & variants, to cotton woven fabrics such as twills, corduroys & other weaves to different knitted fabrics. Have sourced fabrics across India, Pakistan, china, Taiwan & Korea.
