Kliff KuehlPresident& CEO, KNPB TV Film and Video Producer in first career; then I worked as production supervisor, operations manager, and finallly President & CEO of KWBU TV & FM, public broadcasting for Central Texas. Currently President & CEO of KNPB TV & DTV, public television for Northern Nevada. At KNPB, in the last three years, I have helped our team wrap up a $6,250,000 Capital Campaign, have helped to triple the number of major donors, and have helped to arrange for a $1,000,000 in-kind donation that has built out our second floor space. Since January of 2005, the station has won two National Development Awards, we have strengthened our board oversight through diligent committee work, and we have updated all policies related to our operations. In addition, we completed a new strategic plan and now tie our budget to this plan. We have updated our investment policy and rules regarding using interest from our endowment, which is approaching $3,000,000. We understand our station and our activities better than we have in years and are acting on our strategic plan, using five areas of focus to make sure we are “connecting our community through the power of trusted public service media.” We have revamped the way we do production work, making sure it is fully funded via our GoodWorks collaborative, and are now working on re-inventing our development and marketing activities, so that they fully leverage our new dtv channels, e-messaging, and the web. Also, we have overhauled how we fund and manage our outreach and education activities, and we continue to monitor these and all other activities in terms of public service vs. expense. We have built a team that is focusing on the fundamentals -- and pulling in the same direction. In seeking best practices in all we do, and by clarifying policies, building better system interaction, and putting in place a strategic plan, we are making sure that our station is moving forward and becoming a better station each month. Specialties: Development activities, on-air, web and email marketing, and PBS program production and distribution.
