CART/captioner, Communication Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing

I currently CART for two students at A/B Tech in Asheville; one, Andrew, is working towards a degree in Culinary Arts and the other, Susan, is working towards a degree in Digital Media or Graphic Arts. Andrew has had cochlear implants so he can hear just a little. He is a pleasure to CART for. Susan can read lips, and very well I might add, she also is a pleasure to CART for. I have also CART/captioned for several conferences and conventions. I was one of several captioners for a SERID conference in Asheville a few years back (conference for the deaf, blind, and latened deaf). I also helped CART for the Methodist conference at Lake Junaluska in July of '07, and I have CARTed a little for NCSD (North Carolina School for the Deaf). I work part time at the Morganton License Plate Agency as a title clerk as well. I live in Morganton, NC. I am 43 years old. I have three boys; ages 21 (my rebel), 11 (my scholar), and 7 (my sweetie pea). I love my job; I CART for two students at Asheville/Buncombe Technical Community College. CART is very similar to captioning for the hearing impaired; it's just more one on one. I have three brothers, one sister, and my mother, and I love talking with them about old times and just spending time with them and making memories that will be cherished for a liftetime. My father passed away on July 12, 2006; I miss him very much:( as does the rest of my family), but we have lots of memories of him to share with each other. I love spending time with my boys. I love going out to eat at places I've never been before. I love shopping; I love shopping for shoes, I love shopping , and oh yes, I love shopping....did I mention that already? I'm also developing a keen interest for designer handbags....is that considered shopping? I also love to bake and especially trying things like new cakes, candies or anything sweet that I've never tried before. I guess that's about it in a nutshell for now.
