Walter LimDirector, Corporate Services and Marketing Communications, The National Art Gallery, Singapore I have 15.5 years of working experience in the fields of marketing, corporate communications, industry development and strategic planning. I currently heads the Corporate Services Division in the National Art Gallery of Singapore, and is responsible for corporate and business functions like Finance, HR, Planning, Marketing Communications, Admin and IT. Prior to this appointment, I was the Director of Corporate Communications and Industry Promotion at the National Heritage Board. Under my leadership, NHB reached out to new audiences, revitalised its corporate brand, and harnessed the power of social media. Collectively, these efforts helped the 53 museums in Singapore to reach 6.58 million visitors in FY 2008 – an all time record. I also launched Singapore’s first heritage and museum blog Yesterday.sg in March 2006. Celebrating its fourth birthday this year, Yesterday.sg is ranked as the 3rd museum blog in the world in 2009. It reaches some 15,000 unique visitors a month and includes a heritage video channel which is the first of its kind in Singapore. Prior to that, I managed marketing and public relations at NTUC Club, Singapore’s largest local resort and theme park operator, and also worked at the Singapore Press Holdings, Singapore Productivity and Standards Board and the Ministry of Home Affairs. |
