Senior Media & Technology Executive, Investor and Strategic Advisor, Octavian Ventures

Richard is a serial entrepreneur as well as an investor and strategic advisor to a variety of firms in the UK, Europe and Latin America. Currently based in the UK, Richard most recently served as the CEO of AND (www.and.co.uk) the digital subsidiary of Daily Mail & General Trust (LSE: DMGT ); a European portfolio of digital businesses including Jobsite, Findaproperty, Primelocation, Motors.co.uk, Teletext and dating aggregator Allegran. Previously he was a Future Media Controller at the BBC responsible for the award winning BBC homepage, mobile service and led the team responsible for the redesign of its website, Mobile and iTV services, as well as BBC iPlayer. He has co- founded seven firms in his entrepreneurial career; including Razorfish LA and most recently Schematic, purchased by WPP in 2007. Richard is a frequent public speaker on the impact of innovation and digital technology on audiences in the Internet, media & entertainment sectors. Outside technology, with his filmmaker wife Tavin, he has executive produced feature film and television programs including two Sundance Film Festival selections; 2002's On_line and 2006 theatrical documentary Who Killed the Electric Car?
