Specializing in reusable Object frameworks, device drivers and embedded system software design. Strong background in telecommunications and internet protocols. Voice, Speech, Fax and Video technologies. Currently Sr. Staff Systems Architect at Intel working on accelerated computing technologies, parallel processing and distributed systems architectures. Previously: Chief architect and designer of the framework and APIs known as "Dialogic R4" which became the de facto standard for interactive voice response (IVR) telecom applications. Technical chair for an international technical consortium responsible for defining a new industry standard architecture for computer telephony and media servers. Managed a multinational dept. of >25 engineers, responsible for the R&D of device drivers, libraries and applications for real-time telecommunications systems. Supported a large variety of hardware on a number of host platforms including DOS, UNIX, Windows, OS2 and Netware. Several publications. Enjoys working on challenging projects in small teams of intelligent, creative and talented people. Married with 2 kids, a Girl and a boy that keep me young. Flying enthusiast (Sailplanes) for many years. Started at 11 and soloed at 14. Stopped flying when I got my wheels ( 1978 ). Would love to pick it up again if I could convince my wife. Started with computers in 1976. Built my first Intel 8080 based micro in 1977. Passionate about my work, some would say to a fault. My wife would say I'm a workaholic. Fortunate to be in a career for the last 20+ years that I enjoy (most of the time). |
