Professional Summary
I worked in different organizations in different fields since 1988 and now on the process of incorporating a company in California to undertake a venture on information services.
I started my first post-qualified career at a software firm as a business analyst in 1993 and then joined as an executive at a consultancy firm which was headed by a retired senior official from the Rome based FAO.
I joined as an accounting officer at Care International on a UNHCR funded micro project in the rebel-held war-torn jungle reporting directly to the area director, a New Yorker on project feasibility.
I worked at KG Industries as an accountant supervising the holding company and its investment arm for a brief period and left after detecting lost treasury bills worth several millions.
I joined as a business reporter at Weekend Express and wrote various articles ranging from bankruptcy cases in the United States to globalization and its effects on South Asian economy. I interviewed leading politicians, economists and venture capitalists.
I launched a business in 2000, named "American Informatics of e-Commerce" to race in the e-World. I entered with an Indian businessman to develop software targeting US market with the support of Sri Lankan flagship, Board of Investment, but had to give up the project with the dot.com crash.
I was a visiting lecturer since 1992 at various business schools on the subjects; Economics, Management, Quantitative Methods and Case Study in Business Policy and was the first to deliver a course on e-Commerce models in Sri Lanka in 2000. I did a public lecture on "Global Role of the US Economy in the Year 2000 and Beyond" at the US Fulbright Commission, Colombo in 1999.
I authored the book, "German Memories in Asia" which is published by the US Publisher AuthorHouse. I directly involved on the promotion of the book by integrating various news wire and social media (Web:2) tools namely PR Newswire, Digg and Technorati.
