I love to research, 'experiment with', 'learn about' and integrate new technologies and ways of doing things. Ultimately I try and make money for others along the way! After undertaking a degree in Media Technology at the University of Teesside and moving on to teach in two subjects, Internet Authoring & Interactive Systems, I was headhunted for a DTI-backed consultancy role at Lincoln Travel. Here I developed digital text solutions, in conjunction with Sky. When Lincoln was bought by Thomson Travel Group, my remit widened to include interactive digital tv research and development. A promotion within Thomson led to the role of New Media Development Manager, looking after large non-transactional brands such as latedeals.com and skideals.com, while continuing to investigate new distribution channels and technologies - my main love and driver. After leaving Thomson I ran various Internet propositions, including Hostcymru, UK Hosted and Brandhit, as director of Hostcymru Limited. I guess my entrepreneurial streak was aching to be unleashed for a while. I'm now safely back working for someone else; an energetic Internet startup, SubHub, which is destined for great things... here I lead all aspects of their online and offline marketing activity.
